I’m still reeling a bit over the death of Johnny Ramone (September 15, 2004).

Sad. Joey’s death (April 15, 2001) seemed unexpected at least to me since he denied publicly being sick and only the people who knew him knew how sick he was. Dee Dee’s OD death (June 7, 2002) on the other hand, was sort of a gimme the way people talked about his punk lifestyle.

I don’t know any of them but from the information that keeps coming out, it seems so far I would have understood Johnny the most. Outside of the hardcore baseball and hardcore Republican stuff. Although I did play softball during my senior year of high school, started guitar in middle school and would rather watch a horror movie over a sappy one. What I don’t understand is why some people complain about the fact he wanted to make money. Duh! That’s usually why some people go into the music biz. Sure it’s fun to entertain but it’s also nice to have a little something to kick back on.

Money’s not always a bad thing. It helps pay the bills among other things. I hate the idea of being wasteful. It’s stupid to be wasteful in money because you never know when it won’t be there when you need it. Especially for someone my age; by the time I reach retirement age I won’t be able to retire and most likely Social Security will be null, void and done with.

Think in the future?not the present. Don’t dream too hard or you’ll dream your life away.

After doing some research I looked and saw that Johnny’s birthday was on October 8. Then I remembered this entry of mine in which I yapped about what happened to my Amazon.com wishlist account info a few years back. Strange.

It’s about Gad-dang time I figured this one out!

A few weeks ago I hear this new song on the radio that I really liked. It was hard to tell what the DJs were saying when they stated the name of the band. “Broadcast” is what it sounded like they were saying. Those DJs really need to get the marbles out of their mouths. I really didn’t want to bother calling the radio station up and asking.

Internet searched for it during the last few days and under the title of “the reckoning” since that part of the DJs words I could make out. I came up with nothing. Searched using some of the lyrics. Nothing. Finally I decided to try a different spelling, “the wreckoning” with a few of the lyrics. Lo-and-behold… the song IS “Wreckoning” by “Boomkat“

Their album, Boomkatalog One, is due out April 8, 2003. I have no idea what the other songs sound like so I’ll just wait a bit until there are more samples out there to listen to. The single of the song is due out March 4, 2003. So far I’ve heard 2 different versions of the song.

DMX music playground sucks! (Until further notice.)

First it wouldn’t load up for a few days to a week then they get rid of the Dance programming channel from their online player. It was replaced by Hottest Hits on my online player. Good thing there are other online music services for me to listen to and be able to actually choose. Although with some others you are not able to skip a song, but with the other online music players you can choose a genre station and not have to worry about any of the people in the description of the Hottest Hits playlist below.

Their description of DMX music playground Hottest Hits:

Completely current. Today’s hottest hit music from pop, urban, dance, rock and rap. Featuring music now getting major air play, with a few key hits from the recent past. Always up-to-date, always exciting.

Their playlist description of DMX music playground Hottest Hits:

‘N Sync, Alanis Morissette, Backstreet Boys, Brandy, Britney Spears, Goo Goo Dolls, Janet Jackson, Jewel, Madonna, Matchbox 20, Sarah McLachlan, Savage Garden, Shania Twain, Smash Mouth, Sugar Ray, TLC, Will Smith

First 6 artists/songs in a row I had to “x” out because I hated them: Angela Ammons (who ever she is), Natalie Merchant, Kid Rock, Madonna, Gin Blossoms, Color Me Badd.

What happened to playing Basement Jaxx, Moby? For the love of God… what about the Chemical Brothers?! Anything electronic? d’N'b? trance or techno….? Damn!

I didn’t bother listening long. It’s too much of a hassle to click the “skip-I hate it” button as many times as I did.
