Merry (post)Christmas

I got a totally unexpected gift from my mother for Christmas. She noticed it was on sale while looking around in CompUSA. A Toshiba Satellite 1415-S173 with a 15″ diagonal display. There was a sort of catch but not really a catch. My older Systemax Solis tiny little notebook with a 8″ diagonal display will now be shared between the two of us. Well, she’s wanted a notebook before. She wants to use the older one for some of her sewing/embroidery programs. That way she could have the notebook next to the sewing machine instead of having to move about from machine to her computer for just a few programs. So that’s why she was asking me awhile ago about what type of replacement battery the Solis needs. I’m trying to find a way to fix up the PS/2 jack in the back so a mouse would work better with it. I don’t know why a mouse or anything for that matter has some difficulty being used in that jack. Loose connection? I also have to do some research to do on a replacement battery since the current one in the Solis won’t hold a charge to save it’s life and the door on it is broke. Maybe even a better AC adapter. She tested out the Solis abit yesterday, tring to get a hang of the pointer stick and the buttons. I’m trying to get use to the touchpad and buttons of the Toshiba Satellite and dive a bit more into Windows XP Home Edition.
