Another Notepad replacement

Previously I talked about needing to switch over to Motepad to replace Notepad:

Must switch over to using Motepad instead of Notepad for setting up the HTML of my web pages. For some reason Notepad is all of a sudden changing and moving all my structured text as soon as I save. For example:

<HTML>
<HEAD>
  <TITLE>That Loveable "Lorem ipsum" text</TITLE>
</HEAD>
<BODY>

I type it that way but when it is saved the text moves and consolidates it to one big block:

Not good for structuring the source code to something easily readable….

Snip from: Doth Mote, I will

Well I came across another Notepad replacement called Metapad. The “undo” function is not just for the last change made. Although I didn’t test to see how far in a documents history it would undo not just the last change but the one before that and the one before that! Nice featue. It’s more comparable to a Word/Wordpad type text editor. It opens larger files that Notepad. You can even turn on a feature that turns the “show hyperlinks” function on/off. When it’s over a hypertext link it can be clicked and your browser will bring up the page/file! When you open up a document in it you can even get little alert messages like, #8220;Some number of solitary carrage returns were detected and removed.” It even has the option of opening up .c, .cpp and .java extensions if you need to.

Instead of having Motepad AND Notepad, I completely replaced Notepad with Metapad and deleted Notepad. I haven’t gone back to using Motepad yet. Metapad also has the ability of changing text and background color like Motepad.
