No access to my Earthlink e-mail accounts other than the primary account. I tried via Outlook Express, Mozilla, online. Had Earthlink deleted a few of my e-mail addresses because I go rid of my old domain account? I figured that I should try to update my contact e-mail some web sites incase this lasts awhile. One web site wanted to send a confirmation e-mail to either one e-mail address which is Earthlink’s hosting department or something and the other, which was one I now use to have access to.
Called the place up and it turns out she couldn’t access my full account and had to transfer me. Hear part of a push button menu then got the three tones and a message: “Beep beep BEEP…please check the number and dial again.” Disconnected. Aaarrrgh!
Next I try Earthlink. For nearly 40 minutes I was on the phone. Transferred twice, three different departments. On hold for most of it. Yeah, I got patience. The 3 person was able to help be real quick. I have no idea what the first two reps’ problems were. Maybe their departments only had certain access to the accounts. Looks like even tough the other e-mails ended in @earthlink.net they were deleted with the safode.com Web Hosting account.
There goes my Lockergnome newsletters. Not a problem, I’ll just sign myself up again.
Now I’ve go to change all my other contact information to a better e-mail. I try the first place again. I tell him I called earlier and that I would need to be transferred since their department didn’t handle my request. He asks me if I got disconnected earlier. (gee, how did he guess?)
He sets out to transfer me and gives me the other number incase I get disconnected again. Uh oh. Area code 866? I’m afraid to ask if it’s long distance. Wouldn’t that be something. Get disconnect from a toll free 1-800 number only to have to call a possible long distance toll call number.
Anyway I finally got a little bit more of the push button menu. Their hours are something like 9–7 Atlantic . What the hell’s “Atlantic“? Atlantic time? Usually I hear Pacific or Eastern or the occasional Mountain. Atlantic? I quickly picked an option to speak with a customer rep.
I get through…
…just to hear a recording that the way to contact them and ask any questions was to go online to their website and ask it there.
Ain’t that up!
